Authority 30 Day Trial – Day 22

by Sonya Sidky on November 14, 2009

This post is part of the series “30-day trial: Authority–I am the boss of me”. Go to: Day 21 | Day 23

Tasks for Day #22 (November 14, 2009)

Chosen Tasks:

#1) Finish planting indoor herbs.

#2) Write and post the article that was due yesterday: I am an ENTP not and INTP.

#3) Get a head start on the remaining articles that I need to write and post during this 30-day trial.

Randomly selected article: The Master Cleanse: My September 2009 Experience due to be posted on Monday, November 16th.

Listen to Goal Setting CD

Random Strategy From Personal Development for Smart People: #45–Miracle worker–I need to estimate how much time a task will take and then push myself to complete it in half the time.

Today’s strategy will be a good one to apply to writing the article that was due yesterday. My tasks today are focused on getting back on track as well as increasing my chances for completing the rest of this trial without missing any more deadlines.

Day 22 Results

Day 22 went better than day 21, but I still did not score a home run. I got my indoor herbs planted and I worked on all my articles, but I did not complete the article that was due on Friday.

I paid attention to one particular phrase from my goal setting CD. It was something to the effect of potential that is unrealized is useless. I know I am hitting a tough spot with a combination of being restless with the Master Cleanse, not particularly feeling like writing about the Myers Briggs personality indicator and some of my escape habits such as watching TV. One of my blocks with writing the article goes back to my compulsion to cover a topic comprehensively and perfectly. So I see I am going to need to do the opposite of that and get to the point and finish it up. The Master Cleanse boredom should clear up too since as of this writing on the morning of the 15th, I am on my first day of transition. Yum–orange juice was a refreshing change from the lemonade this morning!

So once again, today’s tasks will focus on giving me the sunshine I need and another gentle prod in the right direction.
