This post is part of the series “30-day trial: Authority–I am the boss of me”. Go to: Day 22 | Day 24

Tasks for Day #23 (November 15, 2009)

Chosen Tasks:

#1) Rake Leaves.

#2) Write and post the article that was due on Friday and keep it simple: Why I am an ENTP not and INTP.

#3) No TV today!

Randomly selected article: The Master Cleanse: My September 2009 Experience due to be posted on Monday, November 16th.

Listen to Goal Setting CD

Random Strategy From Personal Development for Smart People: #52–Timer–I need to time my tasks for at least a day, but preferably for a week. Just monitoring my time usage alone can boost my effectiveness.

Argg–no TV and I have to time myself! I already thought I was giving myself enough of a nudge, but I think the universe has other ideas. Hmmm.

Day 23 Results

I did quite well today. It is 10pm and I just posted the Myers-Briggs article. Somehow much of the article flowed out of me very smoothly after I completed my goal setting CD. I then went back later for a second session of writing and finished it off. It took me about 2.5 hours to complete, but it was painless.

I spent about an hour and a half raking leaves today. I still have a lot to go but that is OK because I enjoy being outside.

I did not watch any TV today although I did watch a 10-minute an online video. That was fine though. I just wanted to break the pattern of sitting in front of the heater and the TV at night for hours. Since today I actually ate some real food, I have had less of an urge to veg out in front of the TV. I am still feeling cold and have the urge to take several showers a day, but I expect that and my morning routine to improve. I will now be eating more substantially and will no longer be drinking smooth move tea at night and the saltwater flush in the morning. Three more articles to post and one week left of this challenge!
